Unusual Ad on STD Test

I was traveling in California when I saw an billboard ad that says “Take Online STD test". I asked my brother what STD means. He laughed because he could not imagine that I did not know what STD stands for. With a smile on his face, he said “Sexually Transmitted Disease.” When I heard it, I asked how can it be done online. I continued by telling him that any doctor’s consultation or physical check up must be done before a doctor. My brother told me that you can consult a doctor online. You just have to tell him the symptoms or what you are feeling. He can give you his advice online. There are a lot of ways to immediately communicate the information. I insisted that if you need to have a physical check up, you have to be present physically. My brother who is working as a computer analyst in one of the computer firms in Los Angeles, informed me that a sexually transmitted disease is a serious sickness. Usually, people are embarrassed in seeing a doctor. They are afraid to have a face-to-face encounter because of the possibility of being discriminated. I asked how it is done. He said that you just have to file online. A testing kit will be sent to you. You just have to send your payment online. After receiving the kit, you can easily read and follow the instructions in taking the STD tests. You will just be sending back your urine to them via courier. With all these technological advancement, the STD test advertised is unusual to me but ordinary to many.
